Christmas is coming and we can feel the anticipation building for this year’s annual office Christmas party. We know what you’re thinking, it’s come around so fast, but Hickory Bars are here to help you create an event with a twist of the unforgettable.
Our pop-up bars are perfect for adding that extra fizz to your celebration and we love collaborating with our clients to create the best Christmas parties. Whether you fancy something sparkling or straight up with a twist, our passionate bartenders can whip up creative cocktail concoctions from the classic to the contemporary.
By the time the dark nights close in around us we’re ready to be enveloped in a welcoming warm world of festive scents and spices. This is the inspiration behind our fabulous festive cocktail menu – taking the flavours of Christmas and cleverly incorporating them into some otherwise classic drinks.
We’ve created the perfect cocktail menu (with warm and cold cocktails) to bring all festive parties to life. And because we’re part of the award-winning Hickory catering and events team, bar snacks or nibbles can also arrive, as if by magic. Our pork chipolatas tossed in sherry and redcurrant jelly don’t stick around for long!
Get in touch to discuss how we can add some sparkle to your office Christmas party, but for now let us get you in the Christmas spirit with one of our signature festive cocktails from our new festive cocktail menu.
Ingredients (serves 2):
70ml Absolut Citron
30ml Orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec)
40ml Lime Juice
20ml Spiced syrup (see recipe below)
70ml Cranberry Juice
For the spice syrup (makes 100ml);
100g caster sugar
1 tsp grated Cinnamon
1 tsp grated Nutmeg
1 tsp grated All spice
Add to a pan and reduce down to a nice thick syrup
For our twist on the modern classic Cosmopolitan we have given it some festive spice! Shake all of the ingredients together (except the orange twist) in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. For an added twist why not use some orange zest flamed over the top of the glass.
Boozy honey and almond hot chocolate
Ingredients (serves 4):
100ml Drambuie or similar rich honey liqueur
50ml Orgeat Syrup
2 tbsps quality cocoa powder
50g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
1 litre semi-skimmed milk
For this wonderfully boozy hot chocolate we use a rich honey liqueur (we like to use Drambuie with its rich heather honey, whisky and spice – it’s the perfect winter ingredient – but something like Glayva, Jack Daniels honey or a similar alternative would work just as well) combined with orgeat (almond) syrup (you can buy this or make yourself) and a really nice rich cocoa powder, a tiny pinch of salt to really bring out the flavour and grated dark chocolate. Mix this all together with hot milk in a large pan, whisk well and bring to a gentle simmer. Serve in a warm mug and top with marshmallows and a dusting of cinnamon.
