As a customer focused organisation, our investment in technology has been designed to improve engagement and transparency for our clients, our venue partners, and our teams. The project had sustainability as a core objective, significantly reducing our paper usage and resulting in efficiencies across the business, acting as the centre for our reporting on everything from enquiries to client satisfaction.
By being inclusive with our teams, we developed a series of workstreams which developed the brief for our software team. In our approach, we were open, bold, innovative and ambitious to take giant steps forward in our bespoke system which wasn’t available in proprietary software.
Introducing Hickory Hub
Hickory Hub was born in 2019 and in 2020 we won a Catey for our innovative approach to system and processes using technology.
Each and every day we encourage and expect input for design and software improvements from across our departments. Everyone is involved in our tec, helping us evolve and keeping us at the forefront of smart technology, which never loses its objective of being client and team centred.
Throughout the evolution of the technology platform to-date, we have incorporated:

A commitment to training
MyHickory Aspire is our accredited Learning Management System and takes each new team member through an induction and learning process – for compliance, safety and learning how to deliver the ‘Hickory Way’.
Produced in collaboration with training platform FLOW, managers can see where each team member is on their training plan and what they have to work on. Recommended due dates can be added to prioritise certain modules and there’s ample opportunity to absorb extra training for those keen to learn more. It includes all compliance modules like Health & Safety, Food & Hygiene Training, Allergen Awareness and means those vital foundational training needs can be tracked in a reliable way.
My Hickory – Our transparent team portal.
MyHickory is our dedicated portal accessible to everyone on the Hickory team. It has a direct API link to RotaCloud to link shifts assigned to team members with our main resource planning tool Hickory Hub. Doing this we’ve created one point of contact to understand briefs, uniform requirements and give and receive feedback at the end of every shift. Good communication is vital and this is a digital tool worth its weight in gold for ensuring we always have a well-turned out team who know well in advance what is expected of them.

- Discover their lunch or support options and break timings in advance
- See feedback from clients and give feedback on their experiences
