This is the fourth installment in our series on The Merchants’ Hall, and this time we’ll focus on Merchant’s Hall as a venue for private parties. We love a hidden gem and that’s exactly what this gorgeous venue is.
Snug in a central Edinburgh location, this rich and opulent building, with its fascinating history, is the perfect backdrop for your party. Trust us, it’s sure to wow your guests. If the weather is good, they can even dress their grand entrance with a complimentary red carpet for your guests arriving. After all, there’s nothing quite like the VIP treatment!
The Hall is a beautiful setting for larger dinners of up to 150 guests, with its fabulous domed ceiling and Minstrels’ Gallery. The gallery can be used for accompanying your event with live music as well as being an ideal spot to take birds-eye photographs of your party.
Champagne receptions can be held in the fantastic Court Room upstairs. The Hall can be reset after your meal for a dance or ceilidh whilst you and your guests relax and enjoy a delicious beverage upstairs. Did we mention there’s a gorgeous view? From the Court Room, you can see from bustling Princes Street, all the way up to the St Giles Cathedral.
The Merchants’ Hall is also ideal for drinks receptions and charity events and can cater for up to 200 guests for these. They also often host anniversary parties, birthdays and family celebrations in both The Hall and The Court Room upstairs for smaller gatherings.
The venue can be hired exclusively so that you and your guests can celebrate uninterrupted. With Edinburgh’s main bus routes, Edinburgh Waverley train station and a taxi rank just seconds away, you really can’t get much closer to the heart of Scotland’s capital.
