Haddo House was designed by William Adam in 1732 and built with entertaining in mind. Throughout its history it has welcomed royalty and other dignitaries and is widely recognised as one of Scotland’s grandest Palladian-style country mansions.
Located less than 20 miles outside Aberdeen, Haddo House is the perfect setting for weddings, private parties or corporate events.
From the House, a short stroll through the grounds leads to the Canadian Hall, which was built in 1890 and inspired by Lord and Lady Aberdeen’s first trip to Canada. The Hall is an ideal setting for parties, dinners, receptions and business gatherings.
The extensive grounds provide a stunning backdrop for photographs, and are a splendid setting for marquees and outdoor activities. The estate provides a wide variety of intimate, yet impressive settings for various events – from ceilidhs to concerts, and from marriage ceremonies to Murder Mystery weekends.

Sustainability
Everyone wants the food choices to feel bountiful and exciting. The real skill is in ensuring there’s minimal wastage after the event. Hickory continues to advise and work collaboratively with venues on sustainability best practices, and we’re pushing ourselves each year to do more. During 2023, we are undertaking research, with event owners, buyers and customers which will take a closer look at the world of dietary preferences in a bid to better inform future food choices.
