Saint Stephen’s is one of Edinburgh’s most iconic buildings. When looking down Frederick Street from George Street it is impossible not to wonder at the vision of the men who commissioned it and the man who designed it.
The vision for Saint Stephens, is one that will cement its future for many generations to come by fully utilising the phenomenal potential that Saint Stephen’s offers. Since it was built in 1827-28 to Sir William Playfair’s design, Saint Stephen’s has played an important role both as a place of worship and, since its interior was redesigned in 1958 as a community and artistic centre.
Saint Stephen’s evolution started then, and it is now open for a variety of purposes, especially as a prestigious venue for weddings for up to 600.
