To keep our teams and clients as safe as can be.

Safety procedures and strict guidelines

  • We have undertaken the VisitBritain assessment of ‘We’re Good to Go’ and passed with flying colours, this is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
  • As well as the social distancing measures explained above, within Hickory we have applied one way systems where possible for our toilets, hand sanitiser points, intensive cleaning of surfaces and touch points.
  • All office spaces have been measured out and have a maximum capacity
  • Our staff will complete a daily health declaration so we know everyone is fit, well and able to work.

How are we keeping our teams safe?

  • They’re our top priority so we’re putting lots of new protocols in place
  • Implementing government HR and H&S advice to the letter
  • Using technology to stay in touch while some of us work from home
  • Keeping everyone cheerful – hosting virtual social events and contests and promoting our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

How are we working now?

  • Office teams are working from home using Zoom meetings
  • The kitchen has spaced out work stations and a one-way system
  • Shifts are staggered to minimise numbers
  • All staff teams are kept apart at break times

What are the next steps?

  • Return to Work (RTW) risk assessments are being developed
  • We’re reviewing office layouts and occupancy numbers
  • Staff will not share desks, or even pens!
  • Hand sanitiser in multiple locations

  • PPE worn for safe distance doorstep deliveries

  • Limited venue show rounds and only after risk assessment
  • Venues cleaned between tours, especially high touch areas

How are we getting event-ready?

  • We’re committed to following the evolving guidelines
  • As the rules and circumstances change, we’ll adapt our event health and safety policy
  • We’ll build on our already super high hygiene standards in venues and kitchens
  • Promoting contactless payments over cash
  • Table service rather than bar service
  • Our own branded alcohol-based hand gel for all
