The House of Dun is a stunning wedding venue, offering some of the most beautiful views of the Montrose Basin. Surrounded by Victorian gardens and woodlands, the design of the house was inspired by the Chateau d’Issy, near Paris, and exhibits an opulent European flavour.
While the venue has beautiful interiors and is home to the Hutchison and Stirling collections, the Victorian walled garden offers a unique outdoor wedding option. Marquees can also be accommodated on the front lawn, however, recent wedding belles Rebecca & Nicholas chose to entertain their guests in stylish tipis. The couple opted for an elegant reception with a String Quartet for the drinks reception in the House of Dun’s rose garden. The tipis, complete with fairy light curtain and bar, were set up in the expansive grounds.
Wedding ceremonies can be conducted in the Grand Saloon for up to 70 guests, or the Victorian walled garden for up to 150, Marquees – or tipis – can also be accommodated on the front lawn. The Dining Room, adorned with family portraits and elaborate, ornate plasterwork provides a wonderful setting for entertaining colleagues and clients in style.
