It’s one of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’re now one of the National Museum of Scotland’s catering partners!

Kirsty and Shaun’s special day marked our first night in the National Museum of Scotland, serving over 140 guests for their wedding breakfast.

The night was truly beautiful, with every detail meticulously planned and executed by the Hickory team. As a lovely addition to their wedding day, Kirsty and Shaun had the evening captured in stunning detail by the talented Mark Kirkham, the artist behind MyWeddingSketcher, who also goes by EdinburghSketcher in the city.

Kirsty and Shaun’s wedding was themed ‘a night in the museum’ – which the venue complimented wonderfully!

The guests enjoyed a 3-course wedding breakfast in the unique surroundings of the Grand Gallery. With the majority of the guests vegetarian, we served a selection of inspiring veggie dishes, from our cashew ricotta gnocchi, kale pesto, chickpeas and broccoli to our lightly spiced mushrooms pithivier with braised spinach, spinach puree, roasted tomato & sesame seed chutney – which all went down a treat!

Alana our Senior Event Designer said:
“Kirsty & Shaun were a dream to work with on the lead-up to the wedding. During the planning process, we worked together to select premium wines and tailored the menu to suit their guests’ dietary requirements. Half the menu options were vegan, which is becoming increasingly popular now and we were thrilled that the couple received glowing feedback from their guests on the night.”

The cake table was simply stunning, kitted out with delicate delights.

It was an honour to be part of this incredible evening and the Hickory team adored working in such a beautiful setting.

We’re incredibly excited about this new partnership and thrilled to be operating in such an iconic venue.
