A Hickory Year

What a year 2017 was. From award wins to new venue contracts and working with fabulous clients, it was jam-packed but we loved every minute!

Over the year, we delivered 404 events, serving 61,645 guests. By the end of December we had served 2,843 Christmas dinners at 12 Christmas parties across our different venues.

We celebrated a fantastic year in awards including being named the Best Place for Women to Work and Employer of the Year and we scooped the Business Innovation Award at the 2017 CIS awards in recognition of our launch of Hickory Bars.

We worked at some amazing events and venues throughout the year. Our Botanical Bar travelled to the Royal Highland Show and the BBC at the Edinburgh Festival providing delicious gin cocktails to keep everyone going. To round off our year, we hosted a stunning autumnal guided tasting evening at the Assembly Rooms – an evening we (and our specially invited guests) won’t forget!

 

Our team continued to grow with the hiring of a new Finance Manager, Marketing Manager, Staff Quality and Development Manager, Bar Manager, Sous Chefs and lots of internal promotions, recognising our team’s hard work and dedication to the business.

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing clients that we’ve worked with over the last year. Thank you for inviting us to be part of your event.

For a third year, instead of giving presents and cards, we decided to donate our Christmas cheer to the local elderly residents of East Lothian. We invited 280 guests to join us at Eskmills Venue for our Community Christmas Lunch on the 28th November. It was a great day!
